The Ocean gang are back! Only this time, they’re all female. After teasing the trailer yesterday, Warner Bros has officially dropped the Ocean’s 8 trailer this morning. Check it out below!
Although Steven Soderbergh only produces the film, Ocean’s 8 still has the same cool factor as the George Clooney trilogy. Even the characters in the film are very similar to the characters in the trilogy. It’s clear that Cate Blanchett’s character is the same as Brad Pitt’s Rusty character. Only time will tell if Blanchett will be eating all the time, though. In addition, Rihanna’s character is very reminiscent of Don Cheadle’s Basher character. In fact, the film is so identical to each other, that we have a similar scene with Sandra Bullock’s character talking her way out of prison just like Danny did in 11.
Whether or not Gary Ross can replicate the success of Ocean’s 8 remains to be seen. I just hope that he does because I truly love this franchise. It’s a film that brought a lot of cool into theaters. Also, the chemistry between all of the cast members in Ocean’s 11 is a hell of a lot of fun.
