This is my favorite time of year! I’m not talking about the fall weather, or the smell of the dry leaves, or the amount of pumpkin spiced crap out there. No, I’m talking about THE season. The season of Halloween! This is the season when the ghosts come out, and the horror movies are on every channel. And nothing says love, in my opinion, more than a gift of great horror movie news!
According to Deadline, Judy Greer is in talks to be added to the cast of David Gordon Green’s upcoming Halloween sequel, starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis is reprising her role as Laurie Strode, and Greer is in talks to play Karen Strode, the daughter of Laurie.
There are currently no information released on the plot with Green co-writing the script with Danny McBride. The film plans to be a continuation of the original series and not the Rob Zombie retconned version. The last film in the series, 2002’s H20, sees Michael Myers “killing” Laurie in the beginning of the film, and ending with the survivors “killing” Michael by trapping him in a burning garage.
Greer is a very underrated actress in the industry, and has the comedic chops to hold herself with the best of them, and the dramatic ability to even take charge in some scenes. I think this addition could make for something really special, if Michael doesn’t “kill” her first.
