Quantic Dream, the developers behind Heavy Rain, is working on a new adventure game titled Detroit: Become Human. And during Paris Games Week, a new gameplay trailer has been released that showcases choices your character can make and the consequences of those choices.
Here you play as Kara, an android that has been reset and is returning to take care of Todd’s house and Alice, his daughter. Everything seems fine, but we start to understand why Kara has no memory of the past, and why Alice is scared.
Check out the gameplay trailer below and prepare for an emotional journey involving the tough subject matter of child abuse.
It’s pretty tragic to see a young girl stuck in a house with an abusive father, and here I truly feel sorry for Alice and Kara. However, you do have choices that can lead to a happy end for Alice. And as seen in the trailer, there are many possibilities where things can go wrong. It all starts with the return of Kara, and since she has been reset, she has no clue about her history with the family. Soon she starts to understand why she has been reset, and things take a turn for the worse when Todd gets angry at the dinner table. Here you can choose how to respond. For example, you can try to save Alice, or you can listen to Todd and be a good android.
Detroit: Become Human will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in spring of 2018.
