One of the most profound films I’ve ever had a chance to experience was a small nonchalant movie from the early nineties, aptly called Arachnophobia. This film, starring Jeff Daniels, Julian Sands and John Goodman, helped me realize one major truth: spiders are freaking scary.
It wasn’t the thought that some giant 100-ft spider was going to devour my house or anything, but rather that this small, seemingly insignificant spider from where ever could have the capacity to kill me with just one bite. The fact that the world has still about 20% to be explored, this became a real world issue for me. Well, thanks a lot, Micah Gallo.
Itsy Bitsy is a film completely funded by supporters on Kickstarter. It combines the unique tangible experience of facing your deepest fears with the struggle to overcome every obstacles for the sake of family. The film is an old-school creature film with a terrifying giant spider at the center, but Itsy Bitsy isn’t just about arachnid horror. It’s as much a story about people and family as it is about an eight-legged monster. Mixing character drama with chilling scares, this film is a movie you’ll be haunted by for years to come.
Official synopsis: A young mother with a troubled past must defend her two children and do battle with a legendary pre-historic Spider Goddess.
