Resident Evil: Revelations heading to PS4, Xbox One and Switch

Resident Evil: Revelations
Earlier this year, Capcom announced the HD port of Resident Evil: Revelations making its way to current-gen consoles. Since releasing on the 3DS, Revelations made its way to the PlayStation 3, PC, Wii U and Xbox 360. Set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5, Revelations stars the original duo, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Together they team up to stop a bio-terrorist group from releasing a virus into the ocean. Revelations also includes all the current DLC available as well as the co-op Raid Mode. In Raid Mode, you and a friend fight to survive in altered levels from the main campaign. You can also face the challenges in Raid Mode alone.

Updated for current generation consoles, Resident Evil: Revelations is the acclaimed survival horror title featuring series veterans Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as they investigate the reportedly abandoned “Queen Zenobia” cruise ship. This new version features a smoother 1920×1080 resolution, an improved frame rate, increased environmental detail and refined creature movement, making this the best-looking version of the game to date.

Resident Evil: Revelations Goes back to Its Roots

In 2012, Resident Evil: Revelations was meant to bring back the survival horror to Resident Evil. With Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 gearing more toward an action shooter, Revelations brought back the threat of isolation with the undead. Furthermore, the game takes place on a cruise ship out in the middle of an ocean. Making your way through dark and empty corridors helps bring an element of suspense.

Revelations still uses the third-person gameplay from previous games, with the biggest change being the first Resident Evil game where you can run and shoot at the same time. The developer’s concerns of gameplay being fast-paced led to the reduction of player speed. In addition, the enemy AI movement is more complex to make it difficult to land shots.

Resident Evil: Revelations comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 29th. The Nintendo Switch version releases late 2017. Check out the announcement trailer below!
