Warner Bros. Pictures today updated their release calendar, revealing that two different DC Comics movies are now set to hit the big screen in 2020. The first will hit on Valentine’s Day (February 14), while the other is set for June 5, 2020. The new WB release schedule also shifts the release of the comedy Game Night. Originally planned for release on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Game Night will now arrive a little more than two weeks later on Friday, March 2. Directed by Spider-Man: Homecoming scribes Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the comedy ensemble stars Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Jesse Plemons, Kyle Chandler, Jeffrey Wright and more. The March 2 date will see Game Night open opposite Albert Hughes’ sci-fi thriller Alpha as well as Red Sparrow, a new thriller that reteams star Jennifer Lawrence with her three-time Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence.

The WB release schedule’s mystery animated film will contend with the return of 20th Century Fox‘s Merc with Mouth as the Deadpool sequel is also set for a June 1, 2018 release. The new mystery event film, meanwhile, is the first to claim the December 13, 2019 date. When it comes to the new DC Comics film, the February WB release will open opposite Fox animation’s Nimona with the June release being the first to claim that date.

As for the specific titles of the new DC Comics films, only time will tell which heroes will be on the big screen in 2020. There are quite a few DC Comics films in development, but only two have confirmed release dates: Justice League will hit the big screen this November 17 with James Wan’s Aquaman on track for December 21, 2018.

While 2019 placeholder dates have been set by in the past, a lot has changed. Among the projects in various stages of development at the studio are Matt ReevesBatman film, a Joss Whedon Batgirl movie, David Ayer‘s Gotham Sirens, sequels to Wonder Woman and Man of Steel and lots more. Given the same panel’s major announcements in the past, there’s a very good chance that we’ll have a better understanding of exactly what’s next for the DC Universe after this week’s Comic-Con panel.
