With one of the biggest comic conventions on the horizon, San Diego has become the powder keg of all things nerd and pop culture. From all walks of life, people flock to what’s been hailed as “Nerd Mecca” for this week-long event to check out their favorite comic book artists, actors, actresses, writers, creators and more! So when one of the “biggest” stars of the silver screen makes his first ever debut at San Diego Comic Con, you know he’s going to make a “huge” impact!
Celebrating the 65th anniversary of his first film, Godzilla will be making his first ever debut at this year’s San Diego Comic Con! Parent company TOHO will be hosting a dedicated Godzilla booth, and they’re hosting a bunch of exciting activities including a fun green screen photo booth for unique social posts, using the hashtag #Godzilla65.
They plan to also have a live mural painting by famed Godzilla artist Shinji Nishikawa, giveaways and tons of other photo opportunities. On display at the booth will be the actual suit used in Godzilla 2000, props from films throughout the franchise’s history, and Godzilla products like the Bandai SDCC exclusive figure.

The figure, from Bandai, is the 65th Anniversary 1954 Godzilla Deluxe Vinyl Figure (2019 Convention Exclusive). It is an authentic recreation of the iconic kaiju that introduced Godzilla to the world in the 1954 Toho film Godzilla. This highly detailed 2019 Convention Exclusive Godzilla features accurate sculpting in a limited edition translucent flake vinyl with added paint treatments for enhanced realism. The exclusive package is a displayable window box with premium sleeve.
Coming in at only $30, limited quantities will be available at TOHO/Bandai booth #3535.
Be sure to celebrate the 65th anniversary of this “larger than life” star, and stop by the booth if you can!
