In just a few short weeks, the biggest anime convention in North America comes to Los Angeles. Anime Expo 2019 will be bringing out the best in anime including TV shows, movies, manga, and video games for die-hard anime fans to enjoy. Today, Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, announced that it will be premiering Dr. Stone during Anime Expo.
On July 4th, fans attending Anime Expo will be treated to the world premiere of the first episode of Dr. Stone. This special event will feature special guests Shusuke Katagiri (Dr. Stone Anime Producer) and Hiroyuki Honda (Weekly SHONEN JUMP manga editor). Following the premiere will be a Q&A session with the creators that will start at 12 PM PST. The world premiere event will kick off in the Main Events Hall B at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
For fans that are unavailable to attend either the world premiere event or Anime Expo 2019, Crunchyroll will stream the simulcast of Dr. Stone worldwide (except Asia) on Friday, July 5th.
Dr. Stone takes place several thousand years into the future, where after a mysterious phenomenon has turned all of humanity to stone. From the statuesque population, a boy named Senku Ishigami suddenly awakens. He’s extraordinarily intelligent and has a knack for science. Upon seeing the world of complete stone and the utter collapse of civilization, Senku decides to use his profoundness of science to rebuild the world. He starts off with his childhood friend Taiju Oki, who also awoke from stone at the same time Senku did. Depicting nearly two million years of scientific history ranging from the Stone Age to the present day, Senku and Taiju embark on a journey of unequaled crafting adventure.
