Dan Harmon, the creator of the former NBC-turned-Yahoo sitcom ‘Community,’ has announced a new series he is producing set in the growing world of eSports.
The untitled series will follow “a newly formed team of eSports players trying to make it to the top in the cutthroat world of competitive gaming,” according to reports. The series, currently slated for six half-hour episodes will star Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan of Game Grumps, also on YouTube Red. YouTube announced that Starburns Industries (Community fans will recognize that name) will be the production company behind the new series.
The series was created by Michele Morrow and Jesse Cox, who will serve as both executive producers as well as appearing in the show. Rick and Morty‘s Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe will be the show’s writers and showrunners.
The comedy will debut on the Game Grumps channel in 2017 on YouTube Red.
