D23 Expo: Details emerge for Disney’s immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser - The Halcyon

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step aboard a starcruiser set in the Star Wars universe? Well, wonder no more. Disney is currently developing an immersive hotel where you can live out your dreams of living in the Star Wars universe.

They’re officially calling the experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. The experience will offer you a two-night itinerary where guests arrive and depart together. Each experience is unique and allows you to become the hero or villain of your very own Star Wars story.

The experience begins when you arrive at the departure terminal at Walt Disney World. You, your friends, and family step onboard a launch pod that blasts you off into space. Through the windows around you, you can see you blast off from the terminal and into space as the stars start wooshing past you. Eventually, you’ll see the Halcyon come into view. The coolest part? The doors on the launch pod will whoosh just as it does in the films.

Once aboard the Halcyon, you’ll be able to see stars in every single window. Not to mention, the starcruiser will be populated by familiar and not-so-familiar characters. The characters will help you create your own story and every choice you make affects the course of your story as it unfolds. There’s going to be onboard dining experiences along with various experiences where you’ll get to explore the ship.

On the bridge, you’ll learn about the ship’s system and defenses. These skills will come in handy at some point later. Not to mention, kids and adults will get to train with a training remote as you wield a lightsaber. Think Luke Skywalker in A New Hope. Also, there are hidden spaces in the ship where secret resistance meetings take place. The engineering room will let you see the inner workings of the ship. On the port day, you’ll begin your excursion at Batuu at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have. However, there are rumors that each room will cost around $3,300 for the entire two-night experience. Be that as it may, the room can fit up to five people. So if you can grab four other friends to join you then the experience should cost you around $660 per person. If you’re doing the math, that’s $330 a night.

Regardless, if you want more information about the Galactic Starcruiser experience then head here.
