Jamie Lee Curtis and Michael Myers will battle two more times with Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends

Halloween - Jamie Lee Curtis

Last October, Halloween was released to both critical and box office success. The film became the highest-grossing Halloween film ever with a $255 million worldwide total. So it’s a no-brainer that we’re going to be getting a sequel right? After all, we technically didn’t SEE Michael Myers burn to death at the end of the first film. One would naively assume he did, but like all great horror villains, they always come back.

So we’re not only going to see Michael Myers for one movie, but we’re going to see him for two more movies. Universal announced that Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will be arriving on be releasing on October 16, 2020, and October 15, 2021, respectively.

Not to mention, the entire core group of people behind the Halloween reboot are coming back for the sequels. Producers Malek Akkad, Jason Blum, and Bill Block will return for the sequels. David Gordon Green will return to direct the next two films. Danny McBride will also return to write the sequels with David Gordon Green. In addition, they’ll be joined by Scott Terms on the first movie and Paul Brad Logan and Chris Vernier will help write the second one.

Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends announcement

Of course, Jamie Lee Curtis will be returning as the iconic Laurie Strode. In the announcement, Curtis tweeted: “‘It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.’ Well, my friend’s and fans….I’m just WARMING UP.”

No word on if Judy Greer (Laurie’s daughter) and Andi Matichak (Laurie’s granddaughter) will return to round out the Strode family unit. But one can assume that they’ll be back to help Laurie try and take down Michael Myers… Or be one of his victims… Who knows?

So what do you think of the news?

Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends hits theaters on 16, 2020 and October 15, 2021, respectively.
