The Division 2 is the sequel to the Division, and instead of taking place in New York City like the first game, the new setting is in Washington DC. Many players who have been playing the game since launch have most likely moved on. But Ubisoft is hoping to bring many players back when the raid mode, “Operation Dark Hours,” is released this Thursday, May 16th.
Ubisoft has released the trailer for The Division 2’s raid content, which will allow 8 friends to join together as a group. The beginning of the trailer does remind us of the shot featured in Avengers: Endgame where the surviving Avengers are walking towards their mission. It could be a complete coincidence, but it’s nice to see nonetheless. With your group, you’ll need to take back the Washington Airport, and there will be new challenges and exclusive gear. To add an incentive to play the new content, if your team is the first to beat the raid, you will be immortalized in the game’s Base of Operations.
The Division 2 synopsis: Seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains.
For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. – the most heavily protected city on earth – is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse. If Washington, D.C., is lost, then the nation falls. As a Division agent who has been in the field for seven months, you and your team are the last hope to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse.
The third-person shooter is developed by Ubisoft Massive and takes players into an online open world with RPG elements. Play together with friends in co-op missions, or play by yourself. You can also team up and head to the Dark Zone, a PvP area where other players have the potential of taking you and your team out.
