SteelSeries unveils latest mechanical keyboard, the Apex Pro

SteelSeries is known for being one of the global leaders when it comes to gaming peripherals. What most gamers don’t know is that SteelSeries created one of the first mechanical gaming keyboards released on the market. To continue on their historic tradition, SteelSeries has announced its latest lineup of gaming keyboards with the new APEX Pro and APEX Pro TKL.

The Apex Pro will let gamers change the distance that it will take for each key to register a key press. This change in adjustments will let gamers play more accurately and quickly. It’s a first-of-its-kind keyboard that will automatically change between sensitivities when gamers start up their favorite games or perform everyday productivity tasks.

Featuring a patented OmniPoint adjustable actuation switch that uses magnetic sensors, it will allow gamers of all levels to pinpoint the exact sensitivity that works best for them. The magnetic sensors will aid in significantly faster response time than most traditional mechanical switches, making the Apex Pro the world’s fastest and most responsive keyboard.

Along with the OmniPoint switches, the Apex Pro keyboards will include an integrated OLED Smart Display. This display will provide notification alerts from your favorite apps such as Discord or Spotify, or favorite games like CS:GO or Dota2. This display will also allow the users to customize their actuation point directly from the keyboard. This means that you won’t need to rely solely on the SteelSeries Engine software for customization, but it does mean that users won’t get a greater customization experience. Featured alongside the OLED display will be a clickable metal roller and media key that will give its users the ability to adjust the volume and other settings instantly.

The Apex Pro is made from aircraft-grade aluminum that gives the keyboard a lifetime of durability. It will feature dynamic per-key RGB lighting that can sync with other SteelSeries peripherals. The keyboard will also have five onboard profiles that can save personal settings directly on the keyboard, a USB pass-through port, three-way cable routing under the frame, and both models will come with a premium magnetic wrist rest.

“Innovation in the keyboard switch market has grown dramatically stagnant over the past decade. With our new, patented technology inside the OmniPoint switches, gamers finally have the option to use a single keyboard for everything from gaming to content creation and more.  The Apex Pro is the only keyboard on the market that can adapt to the specific needs and preferences of every gamer.” said Ehtisham Rabbani, SteelSeries CEO. “

The Apex Pro will be available in both a full-size and compact ten-keyless (TKL) version. The full-size variant will be available in the US starting June 11th and will retail for $199.99 at Best Buy and SteelSeries.com. The Apex Pro TKL will be available later this year for $179.99
