As we roll towards summer, FX has announced its lineup for the mid-year months will feature the return of the John Singleton-created crime drama Snowfall, the final season of the acclaimed Marvel surrealistic psychological thriller Legion and the well-received Zach Galifianakis-starring dramedy Baskets, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the previous season of Snowfall, everyone was working toward their ultimate goals of money, power, and influence as we entered 1984 in Los Angeles. Franklin (Damson Idris) was starting to experience the perils of success, Teddy (Carter Hudson) found that his off-book drug-funded operation may be vulnerable from unexpected sources, and the drug-running couple, Gustavo (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) and Lucia (Emily Rios), discovered the potency of crack and try to exploit it.

The third season, which is set to premiere on July 10, will pick up in the summer of 1984 as the crack epidemic makes its way across South Central Los Angeles and we see the effects on both the dealers and the users, in addition to every facet of law enforcement and the CIA who unintentionally are behind the issue.

Created by John Singleton & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, Snowfall is executive produced by Singleton, Amadio, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Michael London and Trevor Engelson. Andron serves as showrunner.

“We are honored and fortunate to have worked with John on The People v. O.J. Simpson and the drama series Snowfall, which he co-created and on which he is an executive producer and director,” FX chairman and CEO John Landgraf said in a statement following Singleton’s passing. “I know that the cast and crew loved John as much as we did, and that they are heartbroken over this news. … We lost an incredibly talented artist, leader, activist, partner and friend — far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.”

Not many plot details are currently known about the third and final season of FX’s acclaimed adaptation of the Marvel hero, which will debut on June 24, but in addition to being the end for the story of Dan Stevens’ David Haller, audiences will get to watch as he finally meets his father, X-Men founder Charles Xavier, who will be portrayed by Game of Thrones alum Harry Lloyd.

Based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Legion follows the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) from attaining infinite and world-ending power.

The series stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Aubrey Plaza, Bill Irwin, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton, Jean Smart, Navid Negahban, Jemaine Clement and Hamish Linklater.

Noah Hawley serves as Executive Producer, along with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Legion is the latest project from Hawley and Cameron, two of the executive producers of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning FX anthology series FargoLegion is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production.

Baskets features Zach Galifianakis (Emmy nominee for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Baskets) as twins “Chip & Dale Baskets,” and Louie Anderson (Emmy winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Baskets) as “Christine Baskets,” and Martha Kelly as “Martha.”

The recently concluded third season saw the Baskets family attempt to run a rodeo together. In the emotional season finale, the Baskets family gathered to celebrate New Year’s Eve with “Ken” (recurring guest star Alex Morris), who had a question for “Christine” (Louie Anderson).

“‘Baskets’ continues to deliver thanks to the dream creative team led by Jonathan Krisel and Zach Galifianakis, and we couldn’t be happier to order a fourth season to air next year,” Schrier said. “Each season brings us closer to the Baskets family and their pursuit of life, love and clowning glory. Our thanks to the producers and the cast for making Baskets such a joy to watch.”

The upcoming fourth season, which is set to premiere on June 13, will follow Chip as he once again tries to fly the coop from his mom’s house and find a place of his own, only to run into multiple obstacles along the way.

Executive producers include Jonathan Krisel, Zach Galifianakis, Marc Gurvitz, Andrea Pett-Joseph, and Anna Dokoza. The series is produced by FX Productions.
