The series, which will be based on Amyrillis Fox’s upcoming memoir, will draw upon the real experiences from the memoir to tell the story of a young woman’s journey in the CIA and some of her undercover operations, all with the connections of her closest relationships being told.

Larson has signed on to star and executive produce the series alongside Lynette Howell Taylor of 51 Entertainment and Michael Ellenberg of Media Res, who collaborated to acquire the rights to the upcoming memoir. The drama is also the second series Media Res has set up at Apple following the upcoming Morning Show drama starring Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies) and Jennifer Aniston (We’re the Millers).

The Apple drama will also mark the reunion of Larson and Oscar-nominated producer Howell Taylor (A Star is Born), as she previously produced the dramedy Unicorn Store that not only stars the Captain Marvel actress but is also her feature directorial debut. The film, which debuted at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival to generally positive reviews from critics, was acquired by Netflix and will debut on April 5.

Megan Martin, the supervising producer of the short-lived CW thriller series Cult and writer for TNT’s Animal Kingdom and Fox’s The Following, has also entered final negotiations to write and executive produce the series.

Larson was last seen on the small screen in a main role on the Showtime dramedy United States of Tara alongside Toni Collette (Hereditary) and has been enjoying a largely successful past few years on the big screen, winning an Oscar for the indie drama Room and also appearing in the critically favored action comedy Free Fire, critical and commercial smash blockbuster Kong: Skull Island and will next be seen in the next two Marvel Cinematic Universe entries, Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, the former of which she will lead and opens in theaters on March 8.
