Alita: Battle Angel opened this past weekend and became the top movie at the box office domestically with $42 million as of today and $137 million worldwide. The audiences, in general, have been enjoying it, and the film is fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 60%. Newcomer Keean Johnson plays Hugo, the love interest for Alita, and when asked about which superhero character he would like to play, he actually reveals that he wants to play villains, particularly the Joker.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing the Joker or any villain,” Johnson tells Nerd Reactor. “I think villains are the best to play.”

He added, “It’s the kind of the f*****-up nature of bad villains. It’s where my head is at.”

The Joker has been portrayed by many actors including Mark Hamill, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and Cameron Monaghan. Later this year, fans will be able to see the standalone Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Alita: Battle Angel Synopsis: Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past.

The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) from a screenplay by James Cameron (Avatar, Terminator) and Laeta Kalogridis (Netflix’s Altered Carbon). It stars Rosa Salazar as Alita, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Dyson Ido, Keean Johnson as Hugo, Jennifer Connelly as Chiren, Mahershala Ali as Vector, Ed Skrein as Zapan, and Jackie Earle Haley as Grewishka.
