Keep your devices protected and connected with new Targus’ bags

Targus

For the last 35 years, Targus has been innovating and revolutionizing the way we carry our personal electronics. And as consumers become more dependent on their mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones, the landscape aims to change with the demand. During CES, Targus announced two different bag lines that look to alleviate the concerns consumers might just have.

When you’re constantly on the move, keeping your mobile devices charged up can be a difficult task. The new Mobile ViP+ Backpack will keep you powered up and going throughout the day. The backpack is designed with a side pocket that has Qi-Charging built in. It’s perfect for mobile phones that are built with the same technology, such as the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, or the Samsung Galaxy S9.

The pocket is engineered for you to place your phone inside and not have a second thought about it. An integrated charging holster is built in to keep your phone secure and protected from any bumps or drops. The backpack also incorporates RFID-Blocking protection that will help your credit cards from being skimmed remotely. Aside from the Qi-charging pocket, the backpack will feature contoured shoulder straps, an air-mesh back panel, a trolley strap to secure the bag onto luggage, a tuck-away water bottle holder, and everything else you’ll need in a reliable travel bag.

Frequent flyers and Jetsetters will also have new bags to look forward to with the new Corporate Traveler Collection. The new collection will feature a traveler backpack, 14” and 15.6” briefcases, and a 4-Wheeled Roller. The 4-wheeled roller will be a durable and sleek suitcase that will feature compartments for your electronic devices and overnight gear. The laptop pocket will have an incorporated handled sleeve that will make going through airport security easier. The included waterproof compartment will hold your toiletry bag, while the 3-stage trolley handle and 4 spinner wheels will make it easy for you to move through the airport.

The traveler backpack and briefcases will feature a re-engineered and advanced SafePort x D3O protection system. The new shock absorbing polymer material will offer the thinnest and most advanced protection against any impact. D3O is an advanced polymer that will drastically reduce the amount of force that is transferred back to your laptop in the case of a drop or fall. The new protection system can be found on the base and sides of the laptop compartment. They will be held in by velcro, which will give you the ability to adjust the protection system to your liking.

Along with new bags, Targus also introduced the new MiraLogic workspace intelligence system and IoT-connected platform, that unites hardware with cloud-based software to give you an insightful workspace. As part of the new MiraLogic workspace system, Targus showcased their universal quad video HD docking station.

The docking station will allow a laptop to connect to up to four different monitors, using HDMI ports. Built with dual DisplayLink chip technology, the dock will be able to support four 1080 displays or dual 2K displays. The dock will also feature additional ports such as Ethernet and USB-C.

The Mobile ViP+ Backpack will be available this coming April for $199.99, while the new Corporate Traveler Collection will be available starting this January with prices starting at $104.99.
