With 2 million subscribers, Crunchyroll has been the forefront when it comes to anime streaming services, and as they continue to grow, Crunchyroll looks to offer more than just anime to its loyal fans. This year alone, Crunchyroll has announced new video games and even a partnership with Fathom Events to bring popular animes to the big screen.
Today Crunchyroll has unveiled the English cast for the upcoming anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero.” This announcement also marks the first time that Crunchyroll will also simultaneously cast the dubbed title.
“The Rising of the Shield Hero,” tells the story of Iwatani Naofumi, who is your average and typical otaku. One day in a library, Iwatani finds a peculiar book that can summon him to another world. While in this world, Iwatani becomes an unlikely hero as he becomes one of the Four Cardinal heroes that are tasked in saving the world for the waves of catastrophe that comes for them.
Iwatani, joyous by the idea of setting off on a grand adventure with his party, is suddenly betrayed and manages to lose his money, dignity, and respect. With the inability to trust anyone anymore, Iwatani employs the help of a slave name Raphtalia and continues his journey across the world. But will Iwatani eventually find a way to countermand his desperateness?
