James Ransone and Andy Bean sign on for IT: Chapter Two

The cast for the highly-anticipated sequel IT: Chapter Two has now grown with the additions of indie horror star James Ransone (Sinister) and actor Andy Bean (Power), according to Deadline. Ransone will star in the follow-up to the hit 2017 horror film as the adult version of Eddie Kaspbrak, who was played by Jack Dylan Grazer in the first film, while Bean will portray the older version of Stanley Uris, originally played by Wyatt Oleff.

They will join previously announced James McAvoy (X-Men franchise, Split) as Bill, Jessica Chastain (Crimson Peak, The Martian) as Beverly, and Bill Hader (Barry, Trainwreck) as Richie, with Bill Skarsgård also set to return as the clown Pennywise for the sequel.

Ransone has been in many celebrated indie flicks in the past few years, including the Sinister franchise, the Ti-West-directed western In a Valley of Violence and last year’s mystery thriller Gemini. Bean has made a name for himself in the cable drama world starring in the 50-Cent-produced Power on Starz and recently-cancelled Here and Now on HBO, as well as the fifth installment in the Transformers franchise, The Last Knight.

The second part of IT is written by Gary Dauberman from the book by Stephen King, and will be directed once again by Andy Muschietti. The sequel will hit theaters on September 6, 2019.

IT debuted in September of last year to the tune of $123.1 million on opening weekend, the highest opening weekend ever for a September release, for a fall release, and for a horror movie. It clocked in just $9 million behind Deadpool for the second-highest opening for an R-rated movie. The film earned over $700 million at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing horror movie of all time.
