Rumors began this past weekend that a new Nintendo Direct is on the horizon. More specifically, this Wednesday, September 13. It’s one thing to leak information about a game that hasn’t been announced yet, but chances are that if you hear rumors about a Direct coming soon, it’s more than likely correct.
Turns out, it was. The announcement was made earlier today on social media that a Nintendo Direct video presentation would be coming on Wednesday, September 13 at 3 PM PT and 6 PM ET. Clocking in at 45 minutes long (lengthier than usual), the Direct will mainly focus on what’s coming to the Nintendo Switch and 3DS platforms including more information regarding Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo’s big holiday hit.
I wouldn’t hold my breath for any huge announcements seeing as Nintendo usually saves those for E3, but they have surprised us before with Majora’s Mask 3D, Twilight Princess HD, and Wind Waker HD. All of these games were remakes/remasters, so if anything, I’m holding out for an HD remake of the Metroid Prime Trilogy! Maybe not in this Direct, but one in the future.
45 minutes is a lot of time to drop announcements so here’s hoping Nintendo uses every second to its worth.
