Digimon Adventure Tri is heading to Blu-ray and DVD later this year, as Shout! Factory and Toei Animation Inc. have signed a multi-picture deal. The deal will give Shot Factory the rights to distribute the first three films in North America which will include both English and Japanese audio.
Shout! Factory plans to the release the first film later this year with the following two films sometime after.
Digimon Adventure Tri is set three years after the events of Digimon Adventure 02 and focuses on the original eight Digidestined. Last year, Toei Animation held a special screening of the first film “Reunion” in theaters, which premiered the English dub for the film which saw the return of many of the original voice actors from the original series including Joshua Seth (Tai), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Sora), Mona Marshall (Izzy) along with a few new names joining the cast as Johnny Yong Bosch taking over the role as T.K. (Takeru) Takaishi and Vic Mignogna as Matt Ishida.
The fourth film in Digimon Adventure Tri will release on February 25th. Titled “Loss” the film will also be streamed in four parts on Crunchyroll.com in North America on the same day.
