Along with the new fancy Switch console and its exciting games. Nintendo also announced a parental controls app for phones to help parents monitor their kid’s game time. The app is simply called Nintendo Switch Parental Controls and will be available for both Android and iOS devices. The Parental control app comes with quite a few neat features for parents to make use of including:
- Setting time restrictions for how long the kids can play
- Parents can set up gentle alarms to warn kids their time is up or even set an alarm to signal bedtime.
- Parents can also remotely suspend the console if the reminders are ignored.
- The Parental app also allows users to create and customize a per day hour allowance for their kids.
- To help parents understand what games their kids enjoy the most they will get a monthly summary of which games their kids played and for how long.
- There is also the ability to limit software by age and ESRB rating and restrict Social Media connectivity.
This is probably one of my favorite trailers that Nintendo has made just because A) it’s so darn cute and B) it communicates well to people not in their target audience.
The Nintendo Switch is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017, for $299.99.
