Thanks to Viz Media and Elven Arts, fans will be able to watch Sailor Moon R The Movie (Sailor Moon R Movie: Promise of the Rose) in theaters this January. The announcement was made during Viz’s Moonlight Party live stream on Friday along with the announcement that theaters will be screening the movie in English-dubbed and English-subtitled versions, with a special gift for all attendees while supplies last.
Viz also released two videos, one featuring the official teaser trailer for the movie and second video that introduces Ben Diskin as the voice of Fiore.
Sailor Moon R Movie: Promise of the Rose was originally released in 1993. It wasn’t until 1999 that the movie made its way to America, being released by Geneon Entertainment in both VHS and DVD format. The movie will also air with the anime short Make-Up! Sailor Guardians.
