Disney’s Moana is an upcoming movie featuring music from Opetaia Foa’i, Mark Mancina, and Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda. With a talented musical group, I was wondering if we were going to get a musical. And if it was a musical, would Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson be flexing his vocal cords? With the release of a new clip titled “You’re Welcome,” the answer is yes.
Check out the clip below.
Okay, so The Rock may not be getting any singing awards, but his personality is what sells it. The demi-god gets pretty cocky as he sings to Moana, and Johnson is the perfect voice actor to channel it.
The CG-animated film is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the duo who also directed Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.
Moana hits theaters on November 23, 2016.
