Recently Microsoft has shared its plans to bring the Xbox wireless connectivity to PCs, and other gaming accessories, with the Lenovo’s IdeaCentre Y710 Cube being the first to receive this feature. Today, Microsoft continued its mission to bring the connectivity to other devices by announcing the compatibility of the wireless Xbox One controller with the Samsung Gear VR.
The first game to receive this new feature will be Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, which is currently available. With the game’s update that is coming in October, players will be able to wirelessly connect their Xbox One controller to their Samsung Gear VR via Bluetooth and use it to maneuver through the world. Users will need to make sure the controller’s firmware is up to date as well with the current update that is available.
Though Minecraft will be the first game to have this new compatibility, Microsoft says it is working to bring the same support to both current and future Gear VR games.
