When you buy anything that has the name “Ultimate Collector’s Edition” in the title, you would normally expect it to contain almost everything that has to do with the game included in the box. While that might be true for almost every other game, this doesn’t hold true to Final Fantasy XV.
Just a little over two weeks ago, Square Enix revealed that FFXV will have a Season Pass option for those who want to purchase the bonus DLC for an extra $25. While a Digital Premium Edition which includes the game and the Season pass is available, the Season Pass won’t be included in the $270 Ultimate Collector’s Edition (if you had managed to secure one). This was announced by Director Hajime Tabata via the FFXV Twitter page where they also announced that they will not be making any more of the UCE.
Will the Ultimate collectors edition contain the season pass?
– sadly no & we looked into making more UCE but we were told we still can't.— Final Fantasy XV (@FFXVEN) August 18, 2016
So if you managed to secure your FFXV UCE and want to enjoy the extra episodes, holiday pack, and expansion pack, you can look forward to dropping an extra $25 after spending $300 after having it shipped. Of course, it’s a lot worse if you had to buy it for a huge mark up on eBay or Amazon.
