It is no secret that Pokémon Go was a huge phenomenon. Ever since the game was released, it took the world by storm and had everyone leaving their couches and stepping out into the real world. Recently it has been announced that despite all the glitches and server issues, the game in its first few week pulled in over a whooping $200 million!
While you don’t need to pay money to play the game, it does have in-app mobile transaction which have historically shown to bring big profits in mobile games as well as full-fledged triple A titles. The game performed so well in its first 30 days that it completely surpassed the previous milestones set by Clash Royale and Candy Crush Soda Saga, nearly doubling and quadrupling what they made in their first month.
According to SenorTower, the game’s revenue saw a huge spike after it was made available in Japan during mid-July. Recently, the game has launch in 15 other countries in Asia and is looking to expand in many more markets around the globe. While it seems that Pokemania has somewhat calmed down here in the States, it’s only a matter of time before Niantic decides to release the next generation of Pokemon and the craze will start up again.
