It’s time to embark on a new adventure in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft as Blizzard revealed One Night in Karazhan. Set to release on August 11th, One Night in Karazhan isn’t a new expansion in the popular free-to-play card game from Blizzard. Instead it is “a groovy collection of single-player missions,” which includes 45 new cards that you’ll be able to use in regular ranked, arena mode and tavern brawls.
So what’s the difference between an expansion and an adventure?
I had the same question myself, but according to Blizzard, it’s an expansion featuring the addition of over 100 cards which are unlocked by purchasing packs with either in-game money or using real money. Ultimately it comes down to luck.
The adventure, on the other hand, will let players unlock each card in the set after completing a series of single-player boss fights and special class challenges. The other difference is that if you want to collect all 45 cards, you’ll need to pay a one-time fee of $14.99 or purchase each part of the game wing by wing.
Each wing will cost $6.99 or 700 in-game gold and contains anywhere from two to four boss fights. New Wings will go live every Thursday until the One Night in Karazhan adventure is over, and it’s not confirmed just how many wings will be released as of yet.
Here is a look at a few of the cards coming in One Night in Karazhan.
It’s a party you won’t want to miss as it kicks off with a free prologue mission that is sure to put you in the mood to groove. No guests of Medivh’s will leave Karazhan empty-handed—you’ll receive two copies each of Enchanted Raven and Firelands Portal just for checking out the prologue.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is available to play for free on PC as well as iOS and Android devices.
