Suicide Squad recently released to the world and it’s reception has kind of been muddled. The majority of critics don’t seem to like it, however a majority of the fans still support it despite its many flaws. That said, Jared Leto, who played the role of Joker in Suicide Squad seems to be thinking beyond this movie already. In an interview with BBC Radio 5, he spoke about the possibility of teaming up with Ben Affleck’s Batman character
“I think that the most compelling character to team up with would be Batman, I know he’s not a villain, but it would just be so much fun. The thing about this film is, for a lot of people, the Joker is exciting when he’s pulling the strings, in this film, it’s more of an introduction to the Joker. As the film stands now, it’s much more of a supporting part than a lot of people may have assumed. It feels like there could be more to come.”
But will there be more Joker in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movies?
“I think it entirely depends upon the response of the public, if they respond to this Joker, I can imagine the Joker coming back. But if they don’t, I certainly wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome.”
Joker is one of the most iconic villains that Batman has every faced. In fact, you could argue that they are two sides to the same coin. If Joker and Batman did work together on a film, how do you think it would pan out? Perhaps a storyline where they were both captured by an outside menace that they both considered to be an enemy. At that point they’d have to work together to escape which would make for great banter between the two characters. Sound off below to tell us your ideas!
