I feel like it’s time for my yearly “Hey, there’s a meteor shower this month” article. Well, here it is!
This week on August 12th, Perseid’s meteor shower will take place. On the 12th is when it’ll be at its peak, but don’t worry. If you miss it, you’ll still be able to see it throughout most of August.
Usually, this meteor shower takes place every year around the same time and is at about 80 Perseids per hour. However, this year, it’ll be at about 150 – more than it ever has been.
“This year, instead of seeing about 80 Perseids per hour, the rate could top 150 and even approach 200 meteors per hour,” NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke told Space.com.
Please, please go out and see it! You won’t regret it, I promise.
