Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will release on July 11, 2017. During a panel at PAX East, Square Enix announced that players will be able to switch between the original PS2 background music and a re-orchestrated version throughout the game, hold the L1 button to speed up the game, and press the L3 button to woverlay the map on the screen.
Square Enix also announced it will be releasing a few different editions of the game, including a store exclusive Collector’s Edition:
The Square Enix online store exclusive Collector’s Edition will contain a copy of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for the PlayStation 4, an original soundtrack which are both contained inside a Collector’s Edition Steelbook case, an exclusive “Judge Magisters” Bust Set – Featuring busts of Judges Bergan, Drace, Gabranth, Ghis, and Zargabaath, an exclusive 6 card art set, and a download code for in-game background music. The Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Collector’s Edition is currently available for pre-order and will retail for $199.99.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will feature two different versions of the game which include Limited Steelbook edition which features artwork from Akihiko Yoshida and a download code for or in-game background music. The game can be pre-orders from various retailers and will retail for $59.99.
There will also be a standard edition of the game including a first print run with a reversible coversheet for $49.99.
You can also pre-order the game on the PlayStation Network which will include a Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age PlayStation theme (available now) and a 4-track music compilation composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (available on the game’s release date).
