A new Predator film from 20th Century Fox and director Shane Black, simply titled The Predator, is in production and Jake Busey has been added to the cast of the R-rated reboot according to Deadline.
It’s very fitting considering his father, Gary Busey, starred in Predator 2, the original film’s sequel, playing a covert government agent trying to get his hands on the alien creature for military use. However, the younger Busey’s role is being kept under wraps along with the plot of the new film. The reboot, though, is considered a part of the original franchise that started with 1987’s Predator that featured Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Black himself.
Predator will star Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Augusto Aguilera and Keegan-Michael Key and will be released on February 9, 2018.
