Train to Busan director opens up about potential sequels following Peninsula

In recent interview with EW, South Korean director Yeon Sang-ho has opened up about the possibilities of exploring more stories within the Train to Busan universe following the theatrical release of Peninsula. He revealed that he’s still very interested in building up the zombie franchise and that he’s ready to start working on a new spinoff film, even if he might not be the one sitting on the director’s chair.

“Through ‘Peninsula,’ I think the world of ‘Train to Busan’ has been extended, and I think there are many other survivors who live on the peninsula,” Yeon said. “I would like to work on telling the stories of those people. I may not be directing the movie myself, but I would like to start working on a new movie within this framework.”
