WrestleMania 36 continues for a two-night streaming event

WWE has officially announced that their upcoming annual wrestling event WrestleMania will now be continuing as a two-night event available for streaming on April 4 and April 5 at 7 pm ET on the WWE Network and on pay-per-view. As a way to combat the world’s ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, WrestleMania 36 has been relocated to a closed set that will only be attended by essential personnel with three-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski taking to Twitter to confirm that he is set to host the event.

“In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.” WWE said in statement (via Deadline).

Originally scheduled to take place at the Raymond James Stadium, WrestleMania 36 will be the first ever Wrestlemania that will happened for two-night and the first WWE pay-per-view event with no attending fans. The upcoming wrestling event will feature matches between WWE superstars Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship; The Undertaker and AJ Styles; Goldberg and Roman Reigns. WrestleMania 36 will also feature John Cena‘s first match since his return from hiatus as he faces off against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
