Welcome to Mandatory Streamers, our latest column covering the best new streaming content coming your way every week! For the week of June 24, Oscar winner Russell Crowe makes his TV miniseries debut in Showtime’s The Loudest Voice, portraying former Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The series, told from multiple points of view, follows the rise of Ailes as he builds his empire, his political career, and the sexual harassment accusations and settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end. Check out the best shows debuting and returning online this week as well as the latest renewal announcements below, and be sure to visit our mother site Mandatory by clicking here!

Showtime

The Loudest Voice, Series Premiere: Also starring Oscar nominee Naomi Watts among a star-studded cast, the limited series, based on extensive reporting by Gabriel Sherman for his bestselling book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, the limited series aims to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down. To understand the events that led to the rise of Donald Trump, one must understand Ailes. The series focuses primarily on the past decade in which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party’s de facto leader and his downfall before the CEO’s passing. The miniseries will debut on Sunday, June 30.

FX

Legion, Season 3 Premiere: The third and final season of FX’s X-Men drama series is underway as David Haller’s (Dan Stevens) mind-bending journey leads him to question whether he is good or bad. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite, Amahl Farouk. Unfortunately, the hunt for Farouk reawakened the dark voices in David’s head, and with them, a lust for power. At odds with everyone he once considered a friend, David enlists the help of a young mutant named “Switch” (Lauren Tsai) whose secret ability is key to his plans to repair the damage he caused. The third season premieres on June 24 and will also be available to stream on Hulu.

Starz

The Rook, Series Premiere: Starz’s supernatural spy thriller follows Myfanwy Thomas (Emma Greenwell) who is pursued by shadowy paranormal adversaries while grappling with extraordinary abilities of her own. After suddenly waking up in the rain surrounded by dead bodies and suffering from total amnesia, she must fight to uncover her past and resume her position as a high-ranking official of Britain’s most secret (supernatural) service called the Checquy before the traitors who stole her memory can finish what they started. The Rook will launch on Sunday, June 30.

Spectrum

Curfew, Series Premiere: The eight-part drama series starring Adam Brody as megalomaniac millionaire centers on a group of street-racers who drive from London to Scotland in their custom vehicles in search of the prize: freedom from the totalitarian government. The Spectrum Original premieres on June 24.

Britbox

Damned, Season 1-2 (US Premiere):  Co-written and starring Jo Brand and Alan Davies, Damned is a comedy set in the social services department of a local authority. Social workers Rose and Al swim against the tide of bureaucracy, deal with the absurdities of life and try to navigate their equally trying professional and personal lives. Himesh Patel of the upcoming movie Yesterday co-stars in the series. The US premiere of the first two seasons launches on June 25.

Renewals

The Rain, Season 3: Netflix has renewed their post-apocalyptic drama The Rain for a third and final season following the Season 2 launch last month. The original Danish series centers around two young siblings who embark on a perilous search for safety after a brutal virus wipes out most of the population. They join a group of young survivors, set free from their collective past and societal rules. They soon discover that coming-of-age dilemmas still exist even in a post-apocalyptic world. The first two seasons are available to stream now on Netflix.

Yellowstone, Season 3: Paramount Network has renewed Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone drama for a third season. The network also announced that Colony alum Josh Hollway will be joining the cast. In Yellowstone, Costner stars as John Dutton, the patriarch of the family who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders – land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. It is an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny — where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence of living in the new frontier. It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both. Season 2 is currently airing episodes every Wednesday night. The series can be streamed for free on the Paramount Network site, or on Amazon Prime.
