Last year, Rainbow Six Siege introduced a PvE mode called Outbreak. This limited time event, which ran between March and April, was a 3-player co-op mode that was playable during the Chimera expansion pack. Outbreak allowed you to play as a few of your favorite operators to go up against a horde of humans that had been infected with an alien disease.
Outbreak showed a different side of Siege, which at the time was only known for its 5vs5 PvP mode. Playing against a seemingly endless horde of infected people was just as fun as it was intense. Strategically plotting on how only three people could survive an onslaught of enemies meant that you had to pick the right friends to play with. At the end of the limited event, thousands of players put hours upon hours playing Outbreak, which meant that Rainbow Six was onto something truly special.
During its E3 presentation, Ubisoft introduced “Rainbow Six Quarantine,” a brand new PvE game that will be released in early 2020. Quarantine is created by Ubisoft Montreal with a team of developers who came from the development teams responsible for For Honor, Ghost Recon, and more. Quarantine stays along the same route as Outbreak, by keeping the game to a 3-player team. Players of Quarantine will be thrown into a chaotic, intense, and unpredictable environment, as they make their way through quarantine zones throughout the country in an effort to save humanity.
With the recently released trailer, Ubisoft is keeping most of the details a secret for now, but you still get a sense of how intense Rainbow Six Quarantine can possibly be. The trailer opens up with a first-person’s perspective of waking up in a hospital. You can see that the character is infected as his arm starts to be overwhelmed with black veins. A heartbeat monitor can be heard, which begins to gradually increase as the shadows and sounds of other infected people begin to swarm the room. The trailer ends with a team entering the room, to help this infected character get to safety.
Rainbow Six Quarantine will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in early 2020. You can watch the trailer for the newly announced game below.
