Last month, Skullcandy launched a new immersive program called 12 Moods that highlights music, culture, and board sports. Each month, the program will showcase a different mood with exclusive music content and a featured athlete story, which is all represented by a certain color.
Starting today and kicking off the month of April, Skullcandy reveals ‘Elevated Olive,’ a deep organic green the pays homage to our natural surroundings. Commemorating Skullcandy’s Elevated Olive will be hip hop duo EarthGang and professional snowboarder, Eero Ettala.
Atlanta-based hip hop duo EarthGang draws its style from incorporating the genres of funk and soul music. Consisting of rappers Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot, EarthGang’s unique style helps them deliver high-minded lyrical content to their music. They released their debut album to critical praise in 2013, which they followed up with a sophomore album in 2015, which was also met with critical acclaim. Their third studio album, Mirrorland, will be releasing later this year.
Eero Ettala is a professional snowboarder from Finland. He broke out on the international snowboarding scene back in 2005 and has since then won numerous awards. In 2010 he competed in the Winter X Games in Aspen where he won the gold medal in the slopestyle event. Eero also won first place in the Toyota Big Air competition in 2005 and 2009 and won second place in 2004, 2006, and 2010. Aside from professional snowboarding, Eero created the web series “Cooking with Gas,” which showed viewers the best of snowboarding in urban and backcountry areas. Eero was also the focus of the 2016 documentary Ender, which highlighted his 15-year career in snowboarding.
EarthGangs lyrical insight coupled with Eero’s gravity-defying snowboarding makes these two the perfect ambassadors for April’s 12 Moods. Skullcandy will drop three limited edition products that will be boasting the Elevated Olive colorway, the Push (Truly Wireless Earbuds), The Venue (Noise Canceling Wireless), and The Riff wireless. Each product will be available for a limited time on Skullcandy.com
