The villains joining The Suicide Squad sequel, Dave Bautista possibly playing Peacemaker

James Gunn is currently working on the sequel to Suicide Squad for Warner Bros and DC after being fired from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Idris Elba will be playing the new Deadshot since Will Smith couldn’t return due to a scheduling conflict. Now we have a new report that reveals which members we’ll be seeing in the upcoming soft reboot along with news of the director eyeing Dave Bautista as Peacemaker.

According to Collider, The Suicide Squad will include Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Peacemaker. Dave Bautista has worked with Gunn in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and it’s no surprise to see the director wanting to include the fan-favorite actor in his projects again. In the comics, Peacemaker is a superhero named Christopher Smith, and he will do anything to achieve peace, even if it includes violence.

Ratcatcher’s real name is Otis Flannegan, but according to the site, the character’s gender will be swapped for the film. The criminal is Batman’s rival with fondness to poisonous gas. She’s a former Gotham City exterminator who has the ability to control an army of rodents. Deadshot will act as a surrogate father. As for who will be playing the villain, the filmmakers are looking for a woman of any race or nationality.

King Shark, also known as Nanaue, is a fan-favorite villain who has appeared in episodes of The Flash on the CW. In the comics, his father is the Shark God known as “King of All Sharks”.

Polka-Dot Man, aka Mister Polka Dot, is a villain who wears a polka-dot outfit. He’s a minor villain who went toe-to-toe against Batman and Robin. We’re guessing he’s going to be a joke character and will end up being the first one to die. He does have the power to turn his multi-colored polka dots into fireballs and other weapons, so there’s that.

The Suicide Squad movie will be written and directed by James Gunn and will serve as more of a soft reboot than a direct sequel. Collider believes that Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn but in a limited role.

The Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
