Mortal Kombat 11 Closed Beta starts next week

Mortal Kombat is a legendary fighting game known for its blood, violence and gore. The next installment, Mortal Kombat 11, launches on April 23, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. However, the Closed Beta will be available beforehand, meaning players will get a better look at this legendary series before the rest of the world.

As of now, the Official Mortal Kombat website has the Closed Beta listed from March 28th to the 31st. The Mortal Kombat Twitter lists start times as early as March 27th at 8:00 am PT, which is likely to begin downloading the Beta before it starts on the 28th. In order to get access to the Closed Beta, you will need to pre-order the game or receive a code. Pre-ordering the game will also get you Shao Khan, so if you are certain you will buy the game, pre-ordering may be a good idea.

Over the last few months, NetherRealm Studios has been releasing more and more information about the next installment. The current list of characters in Mortal Kombat 11 are:

  • Cassie Cage
  • Kotal Kahn
  • Erron Black
  • Jacqui Briggs
  • Johnny Cage
  • Baraka
  • D’vorah
  • Geras
  • Jade
  • Kabal
  • Kano
  • Kung Lao
  • Liu Kang
  • Raiden
  • Scorpion
  • Shao Kahn
  • Skarlet
  • Sonya Blade
  • Sub-Zero

I don’t know for sure if there will be more added to this list when the game launches on April 23rd, but it is safe to assume they are holding onto some surprises. With Rhonda Rousey voicing Sonya Blade and some awesome story trailers, Mortal Kombat 11 is sure to do the series justice. As for what the Closed Beta will include is still unknown. Only the start and end dates are available for now.

I look forward to seeing how much access the Beta will provide. In the meantime, I think I’ll just play these story trailers on repeat until March 28th.
