Captain Marvel will have two end credits scenes

Captain Marvel Theatrical Poster

Marvel Studios films are known to have end credits scenes. For Avengers: Infinity War, Nick Fury and Maria Hill became victims of Thanos’ snap, causing them to turn to ash. Captain Marvel is coming to theaters this week, and if you’re seeing the film and are wondering if you should stick around during the end credits, the answer is obviously yes. The Marvel Studios film will have two end credits scenes, and one of the scenes will follow up with the Captain Marvel pager seen from Avengers: Infinity War.

Spoilers Ahead

In the Avengers: Infinity War end credits scene, Nick Fury pages Captain Marvel for help before he is turned into dust. The Captain Marvel film explains why Nick can only use it for emergencies, and well, Thanos wiping off half the population from the universe would be considered an emergency.

The first end credits scene for Captain Marvel appears during the mid-credits and starts with Steve Rogers and a few of the surviving Avengers analyzing the pager that was left behind by Fury. It ends with Captain Marvel making an appearance and asking about Nick’s fate.

What’s interesting to note is that Captain America is still sporting his beard, and Chris Evans looks to be skinnier with his white t-shirt. The scene is most likely a scene shot after principal photography. However, it would have been better if he was wearing his suit so that it’s not as noticeable. Oh well.

This scene will definitely lessen the wow factor for Captain Marvel’s appearance in Avengers: Endgame since we now know that she’ll be meeting up with the remaining Avengers. With that said, it’s definitely a scene that will excite many fans since we know for sure that she’ll be helping out Captain America, Black Widow, and the others.

The second end credits scene happens at the very end of the end credits. It’s more of a fun scene if anything. Goose the Cat is revealed to be an alien creature, and it has devoured the Tesseract. In the end credits scene, we see Goose on top of Nick Fury’s desk as it vomits out the Cube.

So there you have it. These are the two end credits scenes for Captain Marvel, and one of them is definitely worth checking out to get you hyped up for Avengers: Endgame.

Synopsis: The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and written by Boden, Fleck, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer from a story by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse. It stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, Rune Temte as Bron-Char, McKenna Grace as young Carol Danvers, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and Jude Law as the Starforce Commander.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
