Perfect David

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 9 Recap

Jake met Amy at Scanlon’s Steakhouse. They were having dinner with her mother and brother, David. Throughout Amy’s life, David was the obvious favorite child. She was competitive with him, and he always seemed to one-up her at every turn. He was also a cop and bragged about passing the lieutenant’s exam for no reason.

During dinner, David’s captain came to arrest him. He was caught with cocaine in his desk. Jake and Amy went to bail him out. Amy was thrilled that David was no longer perfect. Unfortunately, David revealed to them that he was framed by dirty cops paid off by the Brazilian mob.

Death Drop

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 9 Recap

David was going to investigate the Brazilian mob further and clear his name. Amy and Jake went with him to the mob’s nightclub. While there, Amy and David argued their way into an awkward dance-off. When Amy hurt herself doing a death drop, it distracted the guards long enough for them to sneak inside the back office. Amy found their bribery ledger but alerted the guards. They tried to take Jake away, but Amy had David shoot the car to stop them.

At another dinner with David and Amy’s mother, Jake roasted Amy’s mom for playing favorites while Amy was in the bathroom.

Maxwell Blaze

Charles asked Holt if Terry could go undercover to question his perp, Alfonso Tucker, while in holding. Holt felt he would be better than Terry for the role. Charles auditioned them and decided to cast Holt in the role of Maxwell Blaze.

While Holt was blowing it with the perp, Charles told Terry that he wanted him to feel angry and rejected. He’d actually cast Terry as Tyrone McAllister. Unfortunately, Charles kept interrupting Terry to take him out of holding to give him notes. Finally, Terry snapped and blew his cover. Unfortunately, Alfonso knew that both Terry and Holt were cops.

It was all part of Charles’ plan. His real star was Rosa as Ricki Sheets. With Alfonso thinking the plan had gone wrong, Rosa got him to open up to her.
