Miracle Workers is a new comedy on TBS that follows God (played by Steve Buscemi) who decides to destroy Earth and a group of angels (led by Daniel Radcliffe) who try and save the planet. Earth Problems

God was watching a news report detailing all of the tragedies occurring on Earth. His assistant interrupted and told him that his meeting on ending all pain was ready to begin. In an attempt to relax himself after hearing all of the stressful news, God cracked open a beer. In the Department of Angel Resources, a new applicant, Eliza, had been transferred from the Department of Dirt. She was being interviewed and expressed an interest in attempting to correct some of the problems on Earth. The supervisor sent Eliza to the Department of Answered Prayers, Eliza went there immediately and found it in a state of massive disrepair. Eliza met her lone co-worker, Carl, he told of the rules of answering prayers. Back with God, God expressed sadness over people not partaking in animal sacrifice for him anymore.

New Assignment

Eliza managed to clog the pipeline that sent impossible prayers up to God. She followed the pipeline up to God and begged him to help out some of the people on Earth. God decided to do something to help Earth, he announced his plan to destroy Earth. The employees of Heaven began to panic over the destruction of Earth. The angels were offered severance packages and letters of referral to other galaxies. Eliza went to converse with God, and learned of his newly planned restaurant. She offered God a bet, if she could answer one of the impossible prayers God would spare Earth. Eliza went and explained her newest assignment too Craig. Craig was not interested in helping Eliza as she did not understand his job. After helping Craig finish the prayer he was working on, he agreed to help her.

A Prayer to Answer

After going out for some burgers, Eliza found what seemed to a fairly simple prayer for them to answer. A couple on Earth had both expressed a desire to continue their romantic relationship. Eliza showed this prayer too Craig and he agreed that the prayer would be possible to answer. Craig and Eliza went to God and told him their plan. God asserted that in order for the prayer to be officially answered, the pair had to kiss. God told them that he believed the prayer they had chosen was the most difficult to answer out of all of the options he had given them. Eliza and Craig returned to their workspace and learned that one of the prayers that they had answered earlier in the day aided a serial killer.
