Captain Marvel is coming to theaters early next month, and it has been receiving lots of praises from critics on social media and its presales have beaten Wonder Woman, Deadpool and Aquaman. All is sunshine and roses, except for the drama surrounding actress Brie Larson and the angry fans who didn’t take kindly to her comment about there being too many white men at press events. This led to the film’s Rotten Tomatoes user reviews page being filled with negative reviews. In a recent interview, the actress playing Captain Marvel clarifies that she doesn’t want less white men at these events, but she wants more women and people of color to have spots too.

In the interview with Fox 5, she explains that she doesn’t want to take things away from people.

“What I’m looking for is to bring more seats up to the table,” Larson said. “No one is getting their chair taken away. There’s not less seats at the table, there’s just more seats at the table.”
