Turn Up Charlie: First look at Idris Elba in Netflix’s new comedy series
Netflix has released the first photos for their upcoming comedy series Turn Up Charlie, giving us our first look at Golden Globe winner Idris Elba (The Wire, Avengers: Infinity War) as the titular character. In addition, the show’s official premiere date has been revealed, look for the series to debut on March 15. Check out the full photos below!

The series follows the story of Charlie (Idris Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a ‘manny’ to his famous best friend’s problem-child daughter, Gabby.
Turn Up Charlie will also star Frankie Hervey as Gabby, Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly, Looper) as Sara and JJ Feild (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women) as David. In addition, Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King and Dustin Demri-Burns have also been cast as recurring guest stars.

The series is co-created by Elba and Gary Reich who will both serve as executive producers along with Tristram Shapeero, Martin Joyce and Ana Garanito. Reich’s Brown Eyed Boy Productions and Elba’s Green Door Pictures are set to co-produce. Shapeero and Matt Lipsey will helm the new comedy.
