Marvel’s The Punisher: season 2 premieres January 18 with a look at Jigsaw

Netflix released a teaser for the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher, one of the last remaining Marvel shows on the streaming network.

The teaser features Frank Castle aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Billy Russo aka Jigsaw (Ben Barnes) as they both will come face to face with each other again this season. The last season saw the former squad mates fighting head to head with Frank destroying Russo’s face, which caused some brain injury and having his face “deformed”. According to the press release, Russo begins to heal from the traumatic brain injury Frank inflicted on him, it’s only a matter of time before Billy starts to put the pieces of the puzzle back together. Although Billy has a bunch of scars on his face, he still looks pretty attractive. It’s no wonder they needed to ask the mask to create this Jigsaw persona.

With Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil canceled by Netflix, The Punisher and Jessica Jones are the only Marvel properties that remain on Netflix, for now. With Disney starting their own streaming service, with Marvel content, this may be the last we see of The Punisher on Netflix at least.

Marvel’s The Punisher season 2 premieres on January 18th on Netflix.

Marvel’s The Punisher official synopsis:

Further hints at Russo’s masked-villain turn come from the Marvel press release that accompanied the trailer, which says that as Russo begins to “heal from the traumatic brain injury Frank inflicted on him, it’s only a matter of time before Billy starts to put the pieces of the puzzle back together.” With puzzle analogies surrounding the character that eventually becomes Jigsaw, Marvel isn’t exactly taking the subtle path.
