Lex Luthor has been a huge shadow in the CW’s Supergirl series. Viewers didn’t get to see him in previous seasons since he’s locked up in prison for his crimes. However, we do get to see his family members picking up the pieces including his half-sister Lena Luthor and mother Lilian Luthor. The family sure does love having names that start with “L”. Soon, fans of the show will get to see the biggest Superman rival make an appearance, and he’s being played by Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men).

Lex Luthor will appear for the first time in Supergirl Season 4 Episode 15 titled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” The episode will have him trying to convince Lena to join him on his plan. And he’ll “stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends.”

A photo has been released of Cryer as Lex Luthor, complete with bald head and standing behind his cell door.

Executive producer Jessica Queller assures fans that Cryer’s Lex Luthor will be accurate to the comic books.

“The character is not that dissimilar to what we’ve seen in canon,” said Queller. “He just [has] a sparkle in his eye and is smarter than everybody in the room and 12 steps ahead of everyone, and just a large, delicious villain.”

“He’s the biggest supervillain we’ve had on the show, and his plans will kind of touch every character and impact the entire season moving forward once he arrives.”

Season 4 of Supergirl has touched on the subject of alien hatred, and it proves tough for the aliens in the series. The series will introduce the first transgender superhero on TV with Dreamer, who’ll be making her appearance on January 27, 2019, in the episode titled “Menagerie.” Her real identity is Nia, who revealed that she is transgender in Season 4 Episode 2 called “Fallout”. She is played by Nicole Maines, a transgender in real life.
