CES: Mobvoi introduces the Express 2 and Sport 2 watches

Towards the end of last year, Mobvoi, a company backed by Google and Volkswagen, released their new TicWatch C2 and TicWatch Pro. The watches were a way to show that there was a TicWatch for every lifestyle. Coming off the success of the C2 and Pro watches, Mobvoi has announced two new watches geared towards the individuals who have an active lifestyle.

The TicWatch E2 and S2 will be Mobvoi’s newest addition to their current line of smartwatches. Being second-generation smartwatches, the E2 and S2 will help fitness enthusiasts stay connected while tracking health and fitness data while they’re on the move.

Both watches will have a waterproof rating of 5 ATM, which means they will be able to withstand the pressure of being submerged in water up to 50 meters, making it perfect for swimming in a pool or in the ocean. They will be pre-loaded with a swim-monitoring mode which can track your fitness progress in the water. The battery life will be increased by 30% from the first generation, which improves the battery life to 1-2 days on a single charge. Powering the watches will be the Google Wear OS, which gives it access to thousands of smartwatch apps and faces, all which are available in the Google play store. Inside the watches will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform and will continue on Mobvoi’s award-winning designs from the first-generation watches.

Pankaj Kedia, senior director, product marketing for Qualcomm Atheros quoted:

“The smartwatch segment is in the midst of significant innovation, which is helping drive exciting watch features, higher levels of performance, and improved battery life. We continue to collaborate with Mobvoi on the success of the original TicWatch product and on the launch of a series of new, attractive Wear OS by Google smartwatches. TicWatch E2 and TicWatch S2, along with TicWatch C2 and TicWatch Pro, combine the capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear platform with the product and system expertise of Mobvoi, bringing new choices to the increasingly discerning consumer.”

The TicWatch Express 2 (E2) and TicWatch Sport 2 (S2) will be available for purchase soon after this year’s CES.
