Producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez are adapting the Battle Angel Alita manga to the big screen with Alita: Battle Angel, and soon fans will get to experience the world with the Alita: Battle Angel – Passport to Iron City immersive experience. It’s opening in Los Angeles on January 23rd, New York on January 26th, and Austin on January 29th.
Alita: Battle Angel – Passport to Iron City will bring guests into the world of Iron City for a limited time, and tickets are on sale now at AlitaExperience.com. Tickets before the film’s release are cheaper and are selling for $25 each. After February 13th, the tickets will go up in price at $55 each.
Iron City has been recreated for the experience with help from the film’s production designers, and guests will get to interact with the residents, solve puzzles and challenges to earn credits, play with technology inspired by Alita and cyberpunk.
When entering, you’ll get to step inside the replica of the Kansas bar featured in the film. In here you’ll chat with your teammates and learn about Iron City. Three Weavers Brewing will provide an exclusive beer for each of the Kansas bar locations that will be inspired by the film. Union Wine Co. will also provide drinks. After drinking, the residents of Iron City will take you to the streets to start your journey. Once the experience is over, you’ll get a special post-experience Iron City assessment that will give you a specific role in Iron City, based on your actions. And to sweeten the pot, the winning team will receive an Iron City souvenir.
Alita: Battle Angel – Passport to Iron City is created by iam8bit, a company known for pop-culture exhibits and merchandising. (Check out our experience with iam8bit’s Resident Evil escape room.) The Seelig Group is also helping with producing the experience. Alita: Battle Angel production designer Steve Joyner and Caylah Eddleblute are tasked with leading the production design, with former Insomniac Games senior game designer Eric Meyr working on lead game design and design studio Tellart working on leading creative technology.
Alita: Battle Angel hits theaters on February 14, 2019.
