Watch a poster artist break down the Marvel movie posters

While Marvel Cinematic Universe has proven to be one of the most successful moviemaking experiments of all time, linking together scores of characters across dozens of movies. Now, in a video from Vanity Fair, poster designer James Verdesoto takes a deep dive into Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Age of Ultron and more to understand what makes them so visually appealing. At least, most of the time. Verdesoto himself has created the iconic movie posters for Pulp Fiction and I Shot Andy Warhol, so he lends his visual expertise in explaining their significance. 2019 may prove to be the biggest year yet for the MCU, and their posters. First, there’s Brie Larson starring as Captain Marvel in March, the first female-fronted Marvel movie. Thea cosmic-set prequel will (most likely) set up her appearance in Avengers: Endgame, the second epic crossover that will conclude the story started in Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters the following month. Finally, Tom Holland returns once again in July’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will take Spidey out of his friendly neighborhood into a globetrotting adventure. And a sweet looking stealth suit.
