Dontnod Entertainment is taking its time with releasing the next episode of Life is Strange 2, and some fans are getting antsy about the long wait. To ease the pain of waiting, Dontnod and Square Enix have released a new trailer to remind fans that episode 2 is coming. To make it even sweeter, it’s also in live action. The trailer features Gonzalo Martin, the voice actor of Sean Diaz, playing a live-action version of the character. This is so trippy.
The trailer does contain spoilers for the ending of Life is Strange 2: Episode 2, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, please look away.
Sean and his little brother, Daniel, are on the run after an incident involving the death of their father by a cop. The boys are now hiding out in a motel, and the live-action trailer has Sean walking outside to get Daniel a drink from the vending machine. The scene captures the ending of Life is Strange 2: Episode 1 perfectly with Sean discovering his brother’s dangerous powers of telekinesis.
The first episode was a slow build as the boys wander around the town, looking for a place to stay and hide. Sean’s life has been turned upside down during the incident, and going back to his high school life won’t be an option anymore. Along the way, they have been held against their will by a racist, adopted a new puppy, saved by a lifestyle blogger, and more. With Daniel’s newfound powers, will this make their life easier, or will the world try to stop them in their tracks?
Since Life is Strange 2 is a Dontnod game, expect to be met with difficult choices, especially deciding on what to do as a bigger brother. Your actions will ultimately influence Daniel and his powers, so tread carefully. Do you want him to end up like that bad kid from Chronicles or grow up to be a hero like Jean Grey?
Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 will be released on January 24, 2019, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
